I am uncool!

My teenage son, #2, thinks
I am uncool!
"Why do you wear that?" "Why do you have to swing your arms when you walk?" "Why do you chat with the clerk?". I mean, seriously, nothing I do is right.
My feelings are so hurt!
It doesn't matter that I jam on guitar hero with them and their friends. It doesn't matter that I feed all the friends. It doesn't matter that his friends often want to come over because we are the "cool" parents. I am a thorn in his side. An embarrassment to be with. I torture his very existence with all I say and do...Here is what I have to say to that:

  1. I don't look forward to when by oldest is ashamed too. I still get a hug and kiss (in front of her classmates no less). I cherish it each time because I know someday she will cringe and pretend I am not around.

We have Guitar Hero too! We will need to jam sometime. We also have DDR which is hilarious to watch Big C dance on.

  3. As oppossed to walking with my arms straight at my side, yes. Wasn't there a Seinfeld on this?

  4. You need to show him what true embarrassment is...

Drop him off at his first class wearing a floral mu-mu, purple straw hat, and rhinestone cowboy boots, while carrying a boom box blasting "Copacabana".

  5. Your poor son is mistaken. He had the coolest mom! You just keep reminding him of that!
