Cookies of Love

They were twelve and thirteen years old...these girls who laugh, giggle and love their Heavenly Father.

They wanted to do something special for someone.  What could be more fun than decorating Christmas cookies and delivering them to some special recipients.

That grandma who lost her only daughter this year.  When the girls sang, she cried.  They smiled knowing that they brought her a bit of joy in the sorrow.

Then there was the widow.  Eight young girls on her porch singing Christmas carols and delivering thoughtfully frosted cookies.  Her broad smile and invitation to come in and visit just made their day.

I have so much to learn about joy in service.
These young girls who I teach, yes, they teach me, too.
