Alas, the Police Again...

When you have teenage boys, run in's with the police are like a usual occurance. I don't know what it is, but people are naturally distrusting of teenage boys.  You might as well consider them all guilty...

who later called the cops on us...
And let's not forget when Miguel was drinking and driving...

Well, we have yet another occurrence with the cops, the fuzz, the pigs...And if anyone knows why they are called by these slang names, please enlighten me...

Miguel was driving home from work at the Little Caesars in our area. It was dark, and late...A policeman passes him going the other direction then flips around and throws on his lights. That is like the worst feeling isn't it?

Policeman walks up to his window shining a light in his eyes, so he is squinting and can't see. The officer asks him to get out of the car. Miguel is freaking out, because in his defense he swears to me he did nothing wrong.

Then get this, the policeman starts laughing and says "Hey Miguel! Haven't seen you in a while...Just messin' with you..." It was a friend from high school's Dad. Don't you just love a cop with a sense of humor?

  9. I don't find that funny at all, but that is mostly because like your son I would have been sweating bullets, even if I knew I was not doing anything wrong! Happy SITS day! :)

  15. Now that's funny! I bet he was relieved in a big way! Oh...I have a jail story that beats all jail stories, when my younger brother was 15 he spent Christmas in juvie, he and a friend were shooting 22's in a ditch someone called the cops. There was a train going by when the cops got there so they went under a bridge and in the line of fire, him and his friend finished shooting, the cops (like 10 cop cars+ because it went out that cops were being shot at) ended up at my parents house threw my mom to the ground almost shot our dogs. Him and his friend got hauled off to jail. Crazy right! Him and his friend had no record and just spent 3-4 days in juvie and that was that the judge heard the facts and realized they were stupid teenage boys and even stupider cops involved. Your post brought all that up, sorry. Great blog by the way!

  20. Poor kid! I have two boys who are not yet teenagers. So not looking forward to any police involvement. But, you're right, no one seems to trust teenage boys!

    Happy SITS Day!

  25. Oh man, that just isn't funny to me. I mean, it is when it's someone else, or a story told in the abstract, but having been pulled over MANY times having done nothing wrong...the panic that ensues makes it a not funny prank for me. But, I know it's not the case for everyone! Happy SITS day, and it's good this guy knows your son...he probably keeps an extra eye out for his safety out there :)

  31. Stopped in from SITS to read your third blog. I'm glad Miguel was okay. The policeman was not a friend of anyone with his behaviour. Not to be critical, but he could be doing his job instead.

  32. That's too funny! Hopefully my girls won't give me too much to worry about as they reach that age...oh boy....! Happy Belated SITS Day!

  34. As a mom of two girls, I know that parenting teenagers isn't easy. When each turned 18 I have to admit that one of my thoughts was "Whew! 18 and no pregnancies!" Hope that doesn't make me a bad mom....Only one police stop so far that I know of...One of the girls did a California stop at a stop sign. It was very expensive!

  35. I sure hope my boys do have run in with cops unless it's by their uncle that's a cop
