Goals, but not really

The end of my vacay is coming WAY too fast.  I mean I've only been off of work since 2014.  Ahem, but seriously, I have to go back too soon and I don't wanna.  On another note, Here is a list of top 10 things (Not goals) I would like to accomplish in 2015...If I say they are goals, then it probably won't happen, because I feel like goals set me up for failure.  But that One Word I am embarking on this year Loved can fit into each of these.  I Love my body when I eat healthier, do yoga and run.  (See where I am going with this?)  I feel love for my home when I organize it, etc, etc, etc...And here you go:

  1. Eat Healthier
  2. Do more Yoga for my Back.
  3. Run a 5K (again)
  4. Spend more time in my scriptures
  5. Craft/journal more
  6. Make more home cooked meals (See #1)
  7. Organize my home
  8. Rejuvenate my Blog after quitting
  9. See Miguel get married (see this post)
  10. Quit my job...I mean did you look at these things I want to accomplish?  There is no way I can do them all without quitting my job.

Over Burdened

I have been feeling overwhelmed and weighed down by my burdens lately.  They are literally burdens, stuff, things.  I've felt the need to Simplify.  Remember that word of the year?  Since my recovery, I've been like a mad woman, a crazy lady.  Nothing is immune to my touch.  Everything is weighed and considered and either kept, tossed, donated or sold.  Craigslist, Ebay and I have become close friends.

When I am weighed down by these things, I find it hard to relax and feel God's love in my life.  Not that he doesn't love me, but all this stuff just creates distraction and noise.  I can feel God in a home of less clutter and fluff.   Does this make sense?  I can appreciate and value what I have if there is less of it.  As I create a home of simplicity, I am also creating a more Christ filled home.

"Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house,
even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith,
a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God;"

Call it Spring Cleaning or a manic psychosis...
Less really is more...

"Organized Simplicity"

In keeping with my theme for the year...living my life with more Simplicity by Simplifying, I downloaded the book called Organized Simplicity by Tsh Oxenreider here for my Kindle. AND, it was FREE. How much more simple than that can you get? So far so good...Hoping to find some tips for accomplishing my New Years goal.  Just a heads up in the event you want to grab your own free copy...And you can follow her blog here

Happy Simplifying!

Organizing

I hate being disorganized. But, I sometimes can't seem to control the chaos that tends to take over. My computer hutch is truly a "Hot Spot" in our house and a constant battle. Remember when I reorganized my pantry with these baskets?    I love them!  I bought extra to redo  my computer space.

Before and very revealing...

After feels so much better!

Pantry Re-Organized

I've been bitten...Not by Edward, but by the spring cleaning/organization bug. Remember when I showed you my pantry inspiration from http://honeywerehome.blogspot.com and House of Smiths?

My pantry before

Well, I have been out and about searching for some good deals to remake my pantry. I wanted a country store kind of feel to my pantry. Here is the finished product.

My pantry after

What do you think?

I got these cute baskets with the chalk boards on them at Lowe's on clearance. The large basket was $5.48 and the smaller basket was $3.99. I got two of each. The red baskets also came from Lowe's, on clearance again. $7.99 for a set of three.

I got these fun canisters at Walmart for $4.96 each. They are actually called cracker jars. I like being able to see inside. I plan to get some vinyl lettering to denote, flour, sugar and whey.

I also got some little spice shelves at Walmart on clearance. I think $2.48 each. The see through pasta jars I have had since I got married.  The biggest expense overall, was the shelf liners. At $3.96/roll they added up. I thought lining my shelves would be much easier though than painting my pantry like the design inspiration did. I really did want to reclaim my kitchen at some point...While my pantry is still pretty crowded and full, I can be happy with the controlled chaos.  The first person to mess it up, dies.  They have been warned.

Pantry Chaos

My dream is to have an organized pantry like that unto a model home, or the kind you would see in the Better Homes and Garden's magazine. Not the chaotic closet I now possess. With the five of us and all the neighbor boys who tend to forage in my pantry, it's no wonder I can't keep it organized.

I found this blog called Honey We're Home and she has totally inspired me and my pantry.
She got her inspiration for House of Smith's.  I am in blog love...

She gives a step by step and where she got her cute containers.  She is my inspiration, my organizational muse.  It  helps that she has an IKEA close by...and happened upon some cute finds at a thrift store.  I am on a quest to fix this bad boy, and it can use all the help it can get!
