Writer's Block

I am so worried about coming down with writer's block.  What would I do if I couldn't come up with some kind of post with which to regale my audience.  I feel I have such the reputation to come up with something interesting and witty!  (Not really, that just sounded nice, didn't it?)  Every time I get some sort of idea, even if it is just a glimmer, I jot it down.  I use a handy dandy notebook or, if I am at the computer, I go ahead and start a partial post in blogger to save it as a draft.  I currently have  16 posts saved in draft mode. Who would have known that such a quiet reserved woman could have so much to say?  I surprise even myself. But, in all actuality that number has dwindled down from 30.  What am I going to do?

What do you do about writer's block?

  1. I listen to music or I read a book. Of course most of the time my kids say something funny and the post just stems from them. =)

  2. I know what you mean. I've had Writer's Block myself lately. I've got drafts saved, but then I don't go back finish. During the Holidays I had so much going on that it came easy, but now I'm at a stand still :(

  3. P.S. I love the music playing on your blog. Right now it's playing I feel my Savior's love and it's so peaceful.

  4. Take each day as it comes, if something needs to be said, it'll surface and get written. Or at least that's what I'm trying to tell myself! :)

  5. When I hit this stage, I do something else and just let it pass. And it does pass. The more we worry about it, the more jam packed our chaotic minds become. Our creativity comes from a place other than the mind so we cannot think our way out of it. But we can think our way into building a dam! :D

  6. Sometimes I just have to walk away for a while. I started my blog to clear my head. So, I try really hard to not let it become one more thing that causes me stress.

  7. I like to take a walk, and I usually think about something to write! I also jot things down in a notebook to look at later. I need to make sure that I write a very detailed note, or I forget what I meant! I also have drafts of stuff on my blog to write about later. I think I should clean out the old drafts, but then I think something might be inspirational later. I also feel like I am a very quiet and reserved woman, but that goes away when I am writing. Nice to meet you - visiting for the first time from WOE. Thanks for visiting my blog today!

  8. Writer's block....when you're imaginary friends won't talk to you!

I try to always be open to life going on around me and take notes on my phone or on my calendar when that happens. You never know when something will be worthy of a post.

I love to go somewhere and just watch people. It creates all kinds of ideas as I imagine their stories.
