A Christmas Tour

As Christmas draws near, I join with other blogger in sharing pictures of my home and of our Christmas.  I'm not over the top creative and fancy...Just decorations that we have had for years, that hold memories of Christmas' past.

A white fluffy kitty sleeping on a red blanket.
He decorates my home...

A cozy plus to snuggle up and read a good Christmas book

Cute Nativity made by a friend...
Did you think to pray?

My favorite Nativity, a Willow Tree.
It is light up by lovely light and looks amazing at night.

A Snowman collection.  I have a fetish.

Broken

I am broken because an extension of myself has broken.  I am a reader, I love it, I live it.  Words fill up my soul like bright rays of sunshine.  They bring me happiness.  I'd far prefer to curl up with good words and good books than a movie.  I know...SHOCKER.  But it's true.  It must be the introvert in me.  The other day, there was a perfect storm of events that led to my brokenness.

I had just sat down in a chair with my beloved Kindle and a diet cherry coke.  My lovely cat chose that moment to jump on my lap for some much needed snuggling.  Who am I to turn away the affections of Milo the cat?  So, I carefully laid my Kindle on the arm of the chair.  When Milo was through with me he stepped onto the arm of the chair to peer out the window, and as he did, he knocked the Kindle to the floor, quite accidentally I assure you.  He lazily looked at me then jumped down to the the floor and left.  He does nothing mean and intentional except for trying to eat my hair while I'm sleeping, but that's beside the point.

I bent to pick up my Kindle, which, by the way was still in its case, and this is what I found.

Quickly I remembered the extended warranty I purchased for just such occasions   Locating the receipt and warranty, I discovered it had expired just two days prior.  TWO DAYS!  And, in that moment, my heart shattered like the inside of that little Kindle screen.

I was attached to that little thing you see.  It easily slipped into my purse, sat on my nightstand or regaled me with tales while soaking in a warm bubble bath.  As it shattered, so did I.

I need to go shopping!

Dreaming of a Snow Day

Source:  ME

Sitting at home, listening to uplifting beautiful music and I am grateful for the warmth of my abode. Out the window the trees bend and groan and leaves swirl about as if caught in a whirl pool with what promises to be the first real storm of the season. Thoughts of snow days and jolly snowmen fill my mind. Mugs of warm hot chocolate and books snuggled up under warm blankets.

Fireplace aglow, curled up cat, and a pajama day.

Daylight Savings

Daylight savings makes me want to claim this spot of sunshine

And curl up on the floor like a cat.

When the cat's away...

You've heard the old saying, "When the cat's away the mice will play." What about when the people are away? What do the pets do? An unlikely pair, but they are best friends...
*****No pets were harmed in the taking of these pictures*****

Milo

This is Milo. He is the youngest member of our family... Born October 31, 2007 He is a Ragdoll Cat He is a Scorpio He enjoys sleeping, licking himself, eating, sleeping, licking himself some more and leaving globs of hair all over the house for me to vacuum up. And this week he got declawed. Oh the cruelty of it all! Poor baby! If he didn't think he was a dog and try to dig under the doors in the house tearing up the carpet, this wouldn't have had to happen....Think twice before you dig up this mamma's carpet.

Sydney

This is Sydney... Born February 14, 2002 She is a Rottweiler mix She is an Aquarius She enjoys playing with balls, going for long walks, chewing pens, and playing with her new buddy, Milo. She is getting older and it scares us. She still acts like a puppy, though, but sometimes you can tell it hurts her to walk.
