Full-time

The other day I had to work full time.  FULL TIME!! How does a woman do it?  I really admire the women who work full time, care for children and keep up their homes.  I enjoy my job, there is no doubt about that, but full time?  I don't know if I have what it takes to be that kind of mom.  I'm no superwoman, you know.  I found my self worrying about the endless loads of laundry that needed doing, the grocery store that needed shopping and the dinner I would cook.  Dinner? HA!  They'd be lucky if they got PBJ's.  I would have to be seriously organized to do this everyday, and I am just too scattered for that!  I don't like chaos.  I love CALM...

It has me wondering at all the women who seem to have it together.  They seem perfect at everything they do.  I have a friend like that.  Her house is always immaculate, she works full time, has kids, etc.  I have come to the realization that I, most definitely, can not be perfect at everything.  Maybe mediocre, but I am not perfect or wonderful at any one thing.  I am not an expert, I am not a pro, I am not a Super Mom...

I am just me...

  3. I don't think that these women have it all together. It may look that way but I think behind closed doors there is chaos. Something usually suffers whether its relationships or their sanity. lol. There is nothing wrong with you not being able to do full-time. Remember all about personalities?? You and my mom have the same one and she can't do it either. Some people can handle a lot more than others. No worries! You are blessed to be able to have a great part-time job and then go home for your more important job. :)

  4. Me too. I have very little together. And that's okay. Admitting and accepting it are part of what makes it all a bit easier to stomach, isn't it!

    Well said!

  5. I will agree with Amanda...as a mother who has always worked full-time and has a clean house, home cooked meals, etc...something suffers for all that and sometimes it is my sanity, sometimes it is my "me time." But I've noticed as my kids get older, I have more time. The flip side of this is that my kids are very independent, can cook and clean, do their own laundry, etc...BUT, truth be told, I would LOVE to work part-time and hope that sometime in the next 10 years I can do that (of course by then all my kids will be gone - bummer). Meanwhile, you work plenty hard, too...perfection is in the eye of the beholder, not the judger. As women, we are too hard on ourselves and tend to compare ourselves to others. I admire YOU for what a wonderful, thoughtful, funny woman you are!

  7. You and me both! I do not know how women do it all. I'm thinking they don't - but maybe we just don't see what they are not doing:)
