I am uncool!

My teenage son, #2, thinks
I am uncool!
"Why do you wear that?" "Why do you have to swing your arms when you walk?" "Why do you chat with the clerk?". I mean, seriously, nothing I do is right.
My feelings are so hurt!
It doesn't matter that I jam on guitar hero with them and their friends. It doesn't matter that I feed all the friends. It doesn't matter that his friends often want to come over because we are the "cool" parents. I am a thorn in his side. An embarrassment to be with. I torture his very existence with all I say and do...Here is what I have to say to that:

Redecorating with a 10 year old Girl

Ladybug's room needed a face lift. It needed a little help in transitioning from baby girl to soon to be 11 year old. She wanted her own "special place". She wanted her mom to foot the bill while she chose colors, fabrics, and textures all on her own....And, she did...all for under $100.00. She now has a special place in her window seat to curl up with her favorite books, ipod or her cat. The vibrant, vivid, vivacious colors SCREAM vavavoom! Her daddy doesn't like it...(Too much pink). Good thing it isn't his room. It's all hers. Ladybug's little corner of the universe.

Draft mode

I read a post like this recently it cracked me up and I can truly relate. I am someone who in a group of people doesn't usually have a lot to say, though I have a ton of thoughts and ideas floating around in my head. I hold conversations with myself thinking others will think what I have to say is stupid or boring. Out of fear of running out of things to say or sounding stupid or boring, I have at least 10 posts in draft mode waiting to posted. These posts are in varying degrees of completion. Some still need pictures while others are awaiting its wording to be perfected...I have also decided to pace myself to every other day instead of every day, because it will make those last 10 posts last longer in the event I do run out of gibberish and drivel. So, I am posting about posts. I am way too cerebral at times...

Confessions of an Addict

Confessions of an addict. I am a sweepstakes/contest junkie. I have a sickness that I need to feed everyday. Well, almost everyday. I am addicted to the thrill of the what if, the maybe I cans and the today could be my lucky day. The "what if" has been fueled by several minor wins that stoke the fire of enthusiasm and drive. Some wins have been more extraordinary than others. It doesn't cost me anything but my time. Here is a list of some of my wins:
1. Baby car seat
2. Old fashioned looking radio/tape player
3. One month mortgage payment
4. Ipod Shuffle
5. luggage and car safety kit
6. gas gift card
7. Blockbuster gift cards
8. free candy coupons
9. Scrapbooking punching tool
10. Large beach/tote bag
+ several more smaller ones that I can't recall at this time. I'm still waiting for a big win, like a trip or car or something like that. A girl can dream! In the meantime, I will enter on...
