This message is for Ladybug because I know at some point, she will read this post.  She always reads my blog...This is a favorite movie of hers, A Cinderella Story, and a favorite quote.  It is also a really hard thing to learn to live.  Failure does not define us so much as the lack of trying does.  I've tried and failed at things....but I tried.  In high school, I tried out for Cheerleading, Competitive Choir and the school musical.  It was an epic failure every time.  But, I tried...So for Ladybug who is afraid of trying, "Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game."

Accomplishments

I figure I had better report on my Weekend Unplugged.  It was not as easy as I had hoped it would be.  I did find myself checking e-mail on my phone.  Shame on me!  However, I deleted the Facebook app.  No need to see what people are doing online when I should be DOING in real life.  You know?

For the most part I was able to get some things accomplished that I might not have had the time for if I had not unplugged.  We went to the gym on Saturday morning, went with Ladybug to a school play (Into the Woods), attended Church and began scrap booking my wedding (which was in 1989!)  into a Project Life Album.  I bought the Olive Edition recently when it was on sale.  I had those horrid sticky albums that come to find out years later are not acid free.  The pictures were hard to peel up...another 20 years and they would have been cemented in there.

I feel quite accomplished and liberated, if I do say so myself.  It is amazing how much can get done when I decide to focus outside the internet world.  I also watched Pretty in Pink while working on my Album because it celebrated it's 27th anniversary this past week.  Twenty-Seven years!!!  Dang, I'm old...

Christmas Movies

It is tradition to watch a Christmas movie on Thanksgiving evening in our family.  After we've all eaten our fill and have loosened our belts just a little, we put in a Christmas movie.  In years past, we have watched A Christmas Vacation but this year we watched Elf.

Around November, Ladybug and I like to go through Netflix and put all kinds of Christmas movies in our account and we eagerly await the Christmas movie countdown from networks like ABC Family, Lifetime Movies and the Hallmark channel.  There is nothing I love more than snuggling with my daughter and enjoying some Christmas movies....It's even better if they are romantic Christmas movies.  This is becoming a tradition as the years go by.  I have found that this is a simple way to celebrate the feelings of Christmas and spend time with my daughter.

Ah, the romance!

Every once in a while I get the rare opportunity to be home alone. It's not that no one trusts me to be home alone, I mean, I am 40, it's just that my house is always full of people. But, on a rare occasion, I am alone. When I am alone, I curl up on the couch and watch romantic movies. The ones that make the men in my life yawn and complain like the world is ending. Now, KT is pretty tolerant when it comes to movies, but I can only torture the man so much.
