Broncos Love Fiestas

I saw that on a shirt, Broncos Love Fiestas, while sitting on my couch watching the Fiesta Bowl on TV whilst being in possession of 3 tickets to the Bowl Game in Arizona.  It's really a sad thing when weather interferes with your plans. I mean it's January, come on already.  Snow?  Seriously?

But just because we ate the cost of the tickets didn't mean we didn't have a dang fun tailgating party and tailgating parties are always the best when the team you love wins.  So, I sit on my couch wrapped in a furry blanket that makes me feel like a cat, feeling grateful, and all purry for my family and the safety they were afforded in staying home.

Blogging, Balance and BSU Monkey Hats

Something has been missing, and it isn't just my blog.  My blog has been my outlet for creating whether it be words or inspiration I receive from other bloggers.  Something has been missing, and I felt a little inkling of it today...A little spark of creativity coming alive, a longing to return to the living not just the surviving and create.

I'm struggling with balance...working full-time, keeping a house, leading a youth organization, being a wife and mother, etc.  It's hard, I don't know how people do it and still have time for themselves and things they enjoy doing.

I was going through my blog list today and clicking on blogs I hadn't read in a while.  Many of them hadn't posted in over a year!  There was no message saying they needed to take a break...nope, they were just gone.  I started wondering about them, these people I had come to know and their absence.  I suppose someone might be wondering the same of me...maybe, I hope anyway.  Because that means I made an impact on someone, somewhere at some point.

My point is, I'm back, but in a low stress, I'll post when I want to kind of way.  But, I'm back and I definitely need your help in re kindling my passion for life and not getting all caught up in the have to's because they are squashing my creative spirit.

How do you maintain balance in all the craziness?

What I love most about Autumn

The change of seasons make me happy...I am a sensory person.  The colors, the smells, the sounds...everything about Autumn just appeals to me.  AND the weather has been unbelievable.  How can you beat 65 degrees during the day.

Football!  Two weeks after my back surgery I was able to go to my first BSU football game.  I missed two!  Had to give my tickets away...in fact, I watched one of their games from my hospital bed.  For a girl who didn't grow up playing sports, I sure do love to watch some BSU football...Ladybug and I wear matching blue and orange shoes...

I have enjoyed afternoons walking my dog...the sound of the leaves crunching beneath my boots, the smell of damp leaves, the golden sun warm on my skin...

I've been busy...probably much to busy for my own good.  I'm back to pleasing my daughter again.  Not that I haven't pleased her in the past, but there was a while there when I couldn't do anything.  So, I made her a Minion.  He was entered in a Pumpkin contest, but we didn't win.

Oh, and I went apple picking.  Don't you just love those beautiful pictures of the apple orchards and gathering apples.  It is an experience I tell ya.  But, I don't do apple picking quite like that, unfortunately...Walmart, is a different kind of an experience altogether.

What do you love most about Autumn?

BSU or Air Force

I was in a quandary the other night.  We went to a BSU basketball game and I wondered should I wear my BSU sweatshirt or my Air Force sweatshirt?  My oldest is in the Air Force.  Would it be utter betrayal of a mother if I wore the wrong sweatshirt?  Oh, the dilemmas of a mother!

In the end, I went with the Boise State sweatshirt...I rationalized it saying "Well Military Man isn't actually attending the Air Force Academy".  So there you have it, the flimsy excuse of a mother not supporting her son.

This is Miguel's best friend BLT.  Even though Miguel is on a Church Mission, BLT still goes everywhere with us like he's another son.

By the way...we won.

Are you a football fan? I am, at times. The conditions have to be right, the stars have to align...Or one of my three favorite teams have to be playing...BSU Broncos, BYU Cougars or the Denver Broncos. When we moved to Idaho I was able to jump on board with the Boise State Broncos quite easily. The blue and orange was reminiscent of my Denver Bronco days and the Orange VW Rabbit I used to drive around town. Who doesn't like a little Orange? Labor Day, Football parties, food and little Boise State Broncos....It's a great day...
