A follow Up to Christmas Letters

Today I received some very lovely Christmas cards with a Christmas letter inside. They were fun to read and hear all the family updates. In retrospect, maybe I shouldn't have been so hard on Christmas letters. In my defense, I was also trying to be funny...I think that it is the heart of the recipient how the letter is taken. Obviously my heart is hard and shriveled. and I deserve coal in my stocking this year. I will write a future post why my feelings lend themselves to a bit on the bah hum bug side.

Asking your forgiveness,

  2. Hey, I know you! Hehe...No need to be sorry, we all have a little bah humbug in us around this time especially when we get a little stressed. As you know from my response to your letter inquiry, I'm not all merry this Christmas time either. I think that I forget sometimes that it is the responsibility of the reader of how receptive they are to the letter. Very good point. It is perfectly fine to want to share what is going on in your and your kids life. It means you love them and what your life is and that should be shared!

    Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!

  3. Nah, don't be so hard on yourself. What would Christmas be without just a little bit o' grinchiness? It sounds like your heart is already starting to rehydrate anyway :)
    Warmest wishes, jenn

  4. Well, we even took it one step more and didn't do a card or letter. Just the photo. Didn't even sign the back. My Hubby....is cheap. Very cheap (financial planner, that outta do it), and spending money on cards...he is not down with that. And, we were short of time (I know we could have got it done somehow.). I should probably post something on my blog and apologize for our cheapness and for people to expect just a photo card.

But at least the photo card is super cute!!

  5. Oh please...I laugh my behind off at some of the letters. It's especially funny to me when I know their kid is a "delight" and they write about how spirited he is and such an angel at school. HAH! It depends on who the sender is I guess. This is how my Christmas cards went this year: took picture, sent it to Walgreens, picked it up, stuffed it in the envelope and slapped the pre-printed addresses and return labels. Not one thing to personalize it! I love your commenting! Merry SITSmas!

  7. I think people really do enjoy reading other people's messages and the things they do with their lives. I think it is all interesting anyway! And it is so nice to receive cards! Every one is entitled to feel a little bah-humbug sometimes though!!
