Neighbors, Forgiveness and {MMB}

It would seem that in pain filled state, yes, I have regressed, I had a priorly written article of mine post on MMB.  I'd love for you to stop by and tell me what you think.  Below is a snippet...

In my past experience, loving and respecting our neighbors has always been a fairly easy thing....when people are polite and kind to each other, that is.  What happens when differences occur?  It becomes so much harder to love your neighbors.

However, Christ said in Matthew 22:37-39,  "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."

I had an article posted on MMB Monday.
Please stop by and show some comment love

  1. What a horrible experience. I hope your daughter can get over it too. Nice article.

  2. It's challenging to realize emotionally and intellectually that the men yelling on your porch did NOT have their act together and were NOT in a right state of mind. It's difficult to not feel violated when you were, in fact, violated. Thank goodness for time, and for the atonement. You don't have to carry around those feelings forever. It will be a very good experience for your daughter to sooner or later also realize that she did nothing wrong and that the comfort of the spirit is there for people who have been violated and done nothing to deserve it.

  3. BTW, I've often thought that the Love Thy Neighbor commandment is followed with a great EXCEPT FOR after it for most people, "except for my ex spouse", "except for that bully who hurts me", "except for my boss who is purposely difficult" ... the list goes on. To be clear, loving people doesn't mean letting them walk all over you. It is good to establish boundaries. You have to establish boundaries with toxic people in life. But it is hardest to love when someone attacks and hurts you. I totally get that. It is where the Grace comes in because it is only through that atoning Grace that it is possible to feel love, or at least not have unkind feelings, toward those who hurt us. It is natural to want to protect ourselves. And it is good to protect ourselves. It is also so incredibly healthy to be able to let go and move on and not hold on to hurt.
