in the cold rain,
it sunk in.
Penetrating
Soaking me
cold to the heart.
You left me there.
Cold, cold rain
Like harsh words spoken
finally sinking in.
As you turned and left
running
from your innermost fears.
Hanging in mid-air,
my words yet unspoken.
I thought you would return.
Though frozen through,
I waited
in the cold, cold rain.

Wow. Very powerful.
ReplyDeleteThat paints a very vivid picture. I hope you didn't have to draw from real life experience to write it! It's so warm and sunny here now and I hope you are enjoying your summer!
ReplyDeleteEven on a hot summer day, this made me shiver!
