We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are:
First, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
Second, Repentance
Third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins
Fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost
The first two are pretty self explanatory. Enough said...#3. Many religions just baptize by the sprinkling of water. We pattern our ordinance after the Savior's own baptism as accounted for in the New Testament. #4. Worthy men in our church who hold the Priesthood have the authority to confer the Holy Ghost on members of the church. These men act as an instrument through which God sends this comforting and guiding Spirit.
