I've been practicing Yoga for several years. My work schedule usually keeps me from participating in classes in the morning. Since the start of the year and my goal word of Wellness, I have made it a point to attend three Yoga classes. Some benefits I have seen that Yoga has created for me:
- The obvious more flexibility
- Increased muscle strength
- Toning
- Stress relief
- Working on my body balance
- Better sleep
- And because Yoga focuses on what your body can do, I think I am happier and have better self confidence.
Now Yoga isn't the only thing I do. I also enjoy running or interval training. Yoga has been a good balance for me. It opens up and stretches what the running tends to compress. I plan on attending classes or using my Yoga DVD's more often this year. Yoga helps me connect my mind, body and spirit for overall wellness.
I think I'll be digging out my Yoga DVDs too! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!!!!
That is a great goal! I've done a couple yoga dvds at home, but never taken a class. I would like to try it with an actual group, but I am sooo not flexible! Hope it works out well for you!
ReplyDeleteI've heard so much about yoga, but I went to a class once and was so embarrassed by my inflexibility that I never gave it a try again. haha, is that sad? I'm looking forward to following along in 2013 :)
ReplyDeleteoh yes!!! i do yoga faithfully twice a week...I keep trying to get my husband and boys to try it..but they are resisting...
ReplyDeletehappy New year!
I just started yoga yesterday and I love it. I feel so great when I am eating super healthy and doing yoga. There are so many benefits!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and linking up!
Be sure to check back every Thursday and link up too!
I am trying out a Hot Yoga place this weekend, really nervous, but excited. I am extremely stiff and not flexible, not one bit, so it should be fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with Abundant Life! I've done yoga a handful of times and I've really loved it! I wish I could do it more often and get into the habit of it. I'm horrible at being consistent with working out but I feel like I could do yoga more regularly if I had the time. Hopefully this summer I will set this goal for myself!
ReplyDeleteCome again!
Love,
Rubi
