Lately, I feel disenchanted with blogging. The thought of coming up with a post seems more of a chore than being creative. More of a to do than a hobby. This makes me sad, as I have loved blogging over the years. Maybe I just need to take a creativity break. Take a step back and reevaluate where I am going with this thing. After my thoughts the other day, I hope you understand.
So as an ardent follower, I hope you will continue to wait for me as I take some time to regroup. Perhaps it is all part of my personal Wellness campaign. Finding my balance...
Have you ever become disenchanted with blogging?
What did you do about it?
Anyone who has blogged for a while can get into a rut - so no worries!! Happens to all of us eventually!
ReplyDeleteSomething that can help is doing a monthly challenge of some sort. Some blogs host a photo challenge, or a creative challenge, or have random questions or topics to get you started. Google "blog post ideas" and see what you can find to inspire yourself!
Or take a break! Or both!! :D
yes!!! and very recently..I could not understand how I could be so hot and cold. I prayed about it...and thought if God wants me to blog, He'll let me know if I listen...
ReplyDeleteso with you. I haven't had a creative thought in a while. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYES! I totally did. For me, what you're doing was what I had to do - take a break. Stop worrying about it. Absolutely force it out of my mind for a bit. When I'm doing it because I love it, and not worrying about other reasons for having a blog, it made it better for me. But honestly, taking a break was probably the best thing I did. I think it's the only thing that really helped me.
ReplyDeleteYes, I've totally felt this way. And I DID take a little break. I stopped putting pressure on myself to blog a certain amount of times per week, then my inspiration started to come back and I began blogging only when I felt like it. Now I only end up blogging about once a week. Works for me though :).
ReplyDeletei am totally disenchanted right now. with blogging, running, cleaning, pretty much anything I am supposed to do, i have no motivation to do so. I do enjoy your blogs even if I dont comment very much. :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes I have no clue what to write so I skip a day. It helps.
ReplyDeleteGirl, I hear you. I've always said when blogging turns bad I unplug. I think I've done it three times now. Once was a week, once two, this summer I think it was longer. I come back refreshed and refocused.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, here are a few things that keep me loving blogging and not feeling like it's a chore:
1. Always have some spare posts to get you through the times when you just don't feel like writing or when you can't come up with anything to say. Glad you are back. I like your voice.
2. Don't worry about length...short is good. Most people skim anyway.
3. When you got nothing share a pic or a song.
Anyway, that's my two cents.
I totally understand, Lisa. I've had many of those moments myself. I'm trying to get back on a regular posting schedule on my own blog.
