I find myself awake in the early morning hours lying in bed and reading others' blogs. The hum of a fan and the ticking of my keyboard are the only sounds I hear. Maybe in the peace of sleeping teenagers I should read some scriptures. My heart tells me I should give my spirit a good feeding, but I find my mind taking me somewhere else.
See, I find blog reading truly inspirational. I drink in the words of sweet people some of whom I've never met. I feel as if I know them from their writings perhaps better than I know myself. Writing creates a window to the soul. I rejoice when they are happy, and I cry with them when they are sad. We laugh together...Their experiences, thoughts and ideas are truly inspiring. They make me look at life and everyday happenings in a different light. I am often reminded that in the small and simple things we find our greatest uplift.
Thank you fellow bloggers...
This is such a sweet tribute to blogging! I know at some point, all of us step back and think, what the heck am I doing wasting so much time on the computer!? But sometimes I forget to give credit where credit is due - the uplifting, the good advice, the laughs, and the tears. And I remember. That's why I blog.
ReplyDeleteAwesome tribute! Thank you for your very kind words. I love your blog too!!
ReplyDeleteNo...thank you! I really enjoy all the funny and insightful things you have to say.
ReplyDeletethat is why I blog too. Thank you for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteBlogging is an outlet for me, as much as it is for other individuals. I became burned out recently, but I decided that I wanted to treat it as a journal ... as something honest and raw and representative of me and my life. If it scares away individuals, I'm not afraid, because I have the comfort of knowing my honesty. I really do like reading blogs, and it is always somewhat frustrating when I am not able to "catch up" on them. And the comments, sometimes...they are wonderful. There are some amazing people I never would have known existed if I had never blogged.
