Writing

Have you ever wanted to write? I mean more than blog posting or journal writing, but truly and sincerely write? I have the yearn, the inner pull to write a book, though the topic eludes me. I have a story inside that is dying to get out, regretfully, I can't quite touch it. Perhaps it is a dream I can't remember or a memory I have forgotten. I would love to feel consumed by the characters and a complex plot. To have them knocking at the dark recesses of my mind with their story and their lives, would be the ultimate "wanna be writer's" dream. Maybe this is because I am such a book worm myself...I want to join the exclusive club of "good writer" or "Entertaining writer." Is it a book of comedy? Romance? Mystery?
If you could write a book,
what genre would torture you with it's need to be penned to paper?

Marriage

My marriage is like a well rehearsed dance. The choreography having been perfected for almost twenty years. We know what the other is thinking and can finish each other sentences and thoughts. We know each other's likes and dislikes. We are aware of the other's needs before we can even ask. I know how to please him, and he knows how to please me. The seasoning to a good marriage is time, love and selfless sacrifice. This became even more evident during our recent trip. He knew when I was uncomfortable in crowds just by the grasp of my hand. I knew how he likes his cheeseburgers "de-pickled" in the car and then re wrapped so that it didn't drip on him while he was driving. We laughed as we realized we were craving the same foods. And, complained together when we recognized the fact that our kids didn't miss us as much as we missed them. Growing older means many things, where my kids are concerned, it means not needing us or missing us like they have in the past. Thankfully, to my marriage, it means growing closer to my best friend.

We Believe...

"We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. We also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God."
Members of the LDS Church generally use the King James version of the Bible. It is one of the oldest and least translated versions of the Bible dating to 1611. The KJV is filled with language that is rich and poetic. It is one of the most widely used versions of the Bible.
LDS also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. It is the history and religous dealings of the people on the American continents before, during and after Christ's time on the Earth. I think it would be selfish to think that God only loved and spoke to people on the other side of the world. Even the New Testament says, "Other sheep I have which are not of this fold..." Many people who are not of our faith believe we have a false Bible or have replaced the Bible. This is not true. It serves as another testament of Jesus Christ. It isn't put above the Bible but as a companion scripture.

Been Crazy Busy!

I haven't been blogging my usual amount. I feel out of touch with the blogging world. Life has been crazy busy. The end of the school year, softball tournaments, baby showers, conducting school registration, preparing for a trip later in the month, my parents impending move...Need I say more?
I would like to congratulate Ladybug on an incredible softball season. Her team played eight games in five days. They went all the way to the finals and had to beat the undefeated team twice. They beat them the first game, but lost to them the second game. (It was their third game of the day, so they were pretty tired). They finished second in the Treasure Valley and got a nice medal. From Mountain Home, to Horseshoe Bend, to Kuna, to Nampa from Boise to Meridian.

#2 Rocks!
From there I threw a baby shower for my dear sister-in-law.
We are excited for baby Zoe's arrival!
So, If you are wondering where I be...
know that life has just taken over.
Stay tuned for more exciting adventures and life experiences from 2busy...

The Horror!

Imagine my horror as a mother when I find these pics on my camera. I nearly had a heart attack! I guess I am a bit of a sissy. Do they forget the error of their mother's way? I broke my ankle 9 years ago on the tramp. Don't you wish kids could learn from your own mistakes? It would save them a LOT of trouble...

At least I had it off in time for our planned trip to Disneyland. Try walking around Disneyland with an air cast, though. I paid and paid and paid for that fun time on the tramp.

A Small Town Girl

Deep down in my heart I long to live in a small town. I've mentioned before that I am a country girl, but I'm a small town girl, too. It seems an oxymoron considering that I was born in Cali, raised in Denver and KT is from Chicago....Can't get any more LARGE town than that! My soul longs for the laziness of a small town where the big event is the Friday night football game. Where you sit on the porch and know all your neighbors names....Where you listen to the crickets and take time to smell the fresh cut grass. Maybe in my second life....Do you think heaven is a small town?
"Sometimes it feels like this world is spinning faster Than it did in the old days So naturally, we have more natural disasters From the strain of a fast pace Sunday was a day of rest Now, it's one more day for progress And we can't slow down 'cause more is best It's all an endless process. Well I miss Mayberry Sitting on the porch drinking ice-cold cherry coke Where everything is black and white Picking on a six string Where people pass by and you call them by their first name Watching the clouds roll by..." ~Rascal Flatts~

My space

This here is where I park myself for four hours a day...five days a week...170+ days out of the year. It is where I earn a bit of money. This is where I do a multitude of different tasks ranging from answering the phone, scheduling ball games, transferring credits to making bank deposits. Sometimes I am completely without a thing to do and sometimes I am swamped. "When it rains, it pours". I truly enjoy my job and the people I work with. They have become a second family. And the best part...I always get a summer, Christmas and Spring break. Some needs you just never outgrow...And since today is the last day of school. I am saying goodbye to my space for two months!!
"Every time Michael’s in a meeting he makes me come in and give him a post-it note telling him who’s on the phone. I did it once and he freaked out. He loved it so much. The thing is, he doesn’t get that many calls so he has me make them up every 10 minutes."

Blog Tour

I have been following Sherrie Shepherd on her blog for a while now. She is witty, funny and just an enjoyable person to get to know. She also has incredible talent, aside from being absolutely gorgeous. She asked me to write a little review here of her newest creation. Sherrie is an Amazing musician and is on a Blog Tour, and I am the next stop on her tour. She has written some original pieces and rewritten some familiar songs for the piano. Her CD, Solitude, was just released last month and I had to get it! She plays beautifully. Her music is calming, inspirational and uplifting. It's just the right kind of music to put in when you want to relax after a stressful day and the perfect arrangement to listen to on Sunday. You should go to her website and check it out. She takes paypal, it's all very secure, and her price is SO reasonable. Listen to the music on her sidebar and preview it first.
Thanks for sharing your talent, Sherrie!

Happy Birthday Miguel!

MLH
6/3/1993
7 lbs 8 oz
Sixteen years ago you graced us with your entrance into this world. You were my only normal pregnancy and deliver, though I was rushed to the hospital the day you were born with extensive bleeding and partial placenta previa. I really have no idea how serious or scary this was or could have been...I was young and ignorant, and only knew I was going to have a baby. Your dad watched the Bulls in a playoff game while I was in and out of "mental" conciousness. I chose to zone out than be an active, willing participant. After just a few short hours I held your little body in my arms. My second boy!
You were such an easy relaxed baby most of the time, though you hated the car. As you grew older, you became more active, like most boys. Even at sixteen you are so busy you make my head spin. What I would give for a tenth of your energy. You have such a fun and lighthearted personality. You are always smiling and are the KING of one liners. I love that you are so committed to the Gospel and have such a strong testimony, if only your mom could be as strong. You are truly a blessing to our lives! WE LOVE YOU!!

In case you wondered

We are going to Paris for our early twentieth wedding anniversary in June! Well, not the real Paris, but Paris Vegas. A little le tour eiffel and l'arc de triumph....
The main complaint about this hotel is that the nightlife leaves a lot to be desired. BUMMER!!
Does that mean there will be fewer puking and stumbling drunks? Then that's okay with me...
So instead of this...
And this ...
We will be doing this...
And maybe some of this...
DON'T JUDGE UNTIL YOUR HUSBAND OFFERS TO TAKE YOU TO PARIS
